WMO-06 Chords in Aeolian

About this worksheet

This worksheet will teach your student how to harmonize the Aeolian mode as well as figure out diatonic triads and seventh chords. As the Aeolian mode is the same as the natural minor scale, this worksheet is worth spending some time on. If your student can successfully complete the worksheet correctly, it's a good sign they understand the theory and will be able to apply it as needed.

Along with this worksheet, it's also worth going over the information on the guitar lesson plan listed below.

New lesson material: Aeolian mode

A new lesson plan is available in the Lesson Materials Section covering the Aeolian mode. Aeolian is the sixth of seven basic modes and worth teaching. Because Aeolian uses the same notes as the Minor Scale, your student will like the fact that they can learn one basic shape to cover two ways of improvising. The included lesson instructions will help you teach the materials effectively.

SCA-09 Aeolian Mode

About this lesson

The Aeolian mode is the sixth of seven basic modes. This is a good mode to teach as it uses the exact same notes as the Minor Scale which means once your student learns how to use Aeolian, they will also feel comfortable using the Minor Scale in their improvisation. Just like the other lesson plans on modes, the included lesson instructions will help you explain the mode properly to your student.
