New worksheet available: Chords in Lydian Mode

A new worksheet is available on the Lydian mode. The worksheet will require your student to figure out diatonic triads and seventh chords in the Lydian mode. This will reinforce the student's understanding of Lydian and help them apply the mode in their playing.

New worksheet: Chords in Phrygian mode

A new worksheet is available to help you teach your student the Phrygian mode. The worksheet requires the student to figure out diatonic triads and seventh chords on different degrees of the Phrygian mode. This exercise is a great way to understand the mode and it will help the student use the mode in their improvisation. Using this worksheet in combination with SCA-06, a guitar lesson plan on Phrygian, is the best way to teach your student about the mode.

New worksheet available: Chords in Dorian mode

A new worksheet is available focusing on Dorian mode. The worksheet will help your student understand the mode by asking them to figure out diatonic triads and seventh chords within various Dorian modes. Once your student learns to answer these questions they will be able to apply the mode easier and understand what chords relate to the mode.

New worksheet: Chords in Ionian Mode

A new worksheet series has been created to help you teach your student modes. The first worksheet released is on the Ionian mode. It will give your student simple exercises to really understand the theory behind the Ionian mode. Your student will learn how to figure out the diatonic triads and seventh chords on any degree of the mode. This is a great skill that not many guitarists learn so by giving this worksheet to your student they will be ahead of the pack.

New lesson material: Spanish Arpeggios

A new guitar lesson plan is available to teach your student how to improvise using arpeggios to achieve a Spanish sound. This is a great lesson if your student is currently learning how to improvise. It's also handy practice for anybody learning fingerpicking as the arpeggio shapes used are very simple. Your student will learn the Phrygian-dominant mode and how to apply it.

New worksheet: Finding new chords across the neck

A new worksheet is available to help your students learn to create new chord shapes across the fretboard. This worksheet links up to the guitar lesson plan INT-06 which explains in detail how to find new chord shapes. This is a great skill for your students to learn because they can dramatically increase their chord vocabulary. Before you give your student this worksheet it's recommended you give them the INT-06 lesson plan to explain everything first.

New lesson material: Eb Tuning

A new reference sheet is available in the Lesson Materials Section on Eb Tuning. This tuning, sometimes called 'Eb Standard', is when all six strings are tuned down a semitone. Many guitarists use this tuning so it's worth teaching your student how to change back and forth between Eb and Standard. The reference sheet contains all the essential information on the tuning as well as instructions on how to explain it.

New worksheet: Seventh Chords

A new worksheet is available in the Lesson Materials Section to help you teach your student seventh chords. This worksheet links up to the guitar lesson plan MTH-08 which explains the three main types of seventh chords. The best way to teach your student seventh chords is to start off by using MTH-08 to explain the chords, then use this worksheet to test your student's understanding. The worksheet will teach your student to figure out seventh chords across the fretboard as well as write the chords out in Guitar TAB and Standard Notation.

New lesson material: Walking Bass Lines

A new guitar lesson plan has been created to teach your student how to create walking bass lines. This is a great introduction to Jazz and doesn't rely on too much theory. Even if your student isn't interested in learning how to play Jazz style guitar, it's worth giving them this lesson as it contains excellent coordination exercises and applies some scale theory. Your student will learn to create their own walking bass lines based on a very simple step-by-step method.

A new worksheet is available to help your student understand Major and Minor chords. The exercises in the worksheet will require your student to figure out chord positions across the fretboard and write the answers down in both Standard Notation and Guitar TAB format. This is a great way to ensure your student understands the theory behind the chords as well as give them practice in applying the theory.
