New business resource: Expense Trackers

Quite often guitar teachers will neglect the business side of things and forget about keeping track of income and expenses. To make it as easy as possible for you to keep track of your teaching business we have created a very simple expense tracker. This tracker is simply a way to record any money you spend as part of your teaching business. It's important to keep detailed records not only for tax reasons, but so you can see where your money is going. If you look through your records and you notice a lot of money is going towards a certain type of advertising and you're not getting any new students out of it, then you can save a lot of money by cutting that expense.

Detailed information is included to help you use the tracker effectively.

About this resource

A crucial part of the business side to teaching guitar is keeping records of any expenses. Keeping records using these simple trackers not only make it easier to prepare tax returns, but they can provide you with important insights into how you're spending your money and whether you're getting any value out of it. You may discover that the newspaper advertising you have been paying for every month isn't bringing in any new students or that the Google Adwords expenses are bringing in three new students a month. A simple observation like that can save you a lot of money over time.

There are two expense trackers available - one for weekly expenses and one for monthly expenses. Use whichever one suits your situation better. Be sure to use these trackers in combination with an income tracker.
