TEC-09 Picking Exercises 1

About this lesson

Most students manage to get comfortable with picking fairly easily so you might feel picking exercises aren't necessary. However once your student actually tries out exercises like these it's pretty obvious how much of an impact it can have on their abilities. The exercises in this lesson covers a few different picking styles such as economy, alternate, and tremolo as well as other exercises focused on string skipping and rhythm grouping. The included lesson instructions will walk you through how to explain these exercises to your student.

TEC-07 Tapping

About this lesson

Most students enjoy learning to use tapping as it's quite fun to play and sounds great. Before you give this resource to your student, ensure they feel comfortable with basic legato techniques such as hammer-ons, pull-offs and slides. The exercises in this resource are easy to explain and will help your student focus on the technique side of things without having to worry about difficult licks.

TEC-05 Natural Harmonics

About this lesson

If you want to mix things up a bit and teach your student something different, spend some time explaining natural harmonics to them. Students often find them interesting to play so it's a good way to keep someone's interest going. This lesson shows how the student can use harmonics to tune the guitar as well as how they could be used in music. The included lesson instructions will provide you with plenty of ideas on how to explain harmonics to your student.
